  Description:

Possibly my favourite place in the world, Forty Foot is a little known local beauty spot, just outside of Buxton. Hidden in a small patch of woodland, this quarry which became derelict decades ago has now been reclaimed by nature.

Its allure lies partially in its inaccessibility, as it is on Ministry of Defence land and the approach is difficult without being cautioned by guards to leave the privately owned property. How can such a magnificent spot be ignored though?
